The main purpose of the research is to amend and supplement housing needs study for the Municipality of Novo mesto. The aim is to obtain a modern, improved spatial planning grounds(basis), which would allow new planning of the necessary building land for residential construction. The paper analyses the current situation and future needs for housing stock in the municipality for individual settlements within the municipality: Moreover, the study provides an assessment on the housing demand. The study represents a spatial planning base for the required spatial planning predictions, which are based on the foreseen accommodation needs.
