The research resulted in a set of indicators and criteria for the evaluation of socially degraded urban areas and a comprehensible methodology which enables measuring and evaluation of priority areas of regeneration. The study also recommends possible applicative solutions for the management and monitoring of documented socially degraded urban areas as well as it presents possible measures, tools and methods. The results of evaluation on the determined areas of social degradation are of significant importance in terms of implementing the financial actions and measures of the European Union for the new programming period.
