The Slovenian Environment Agency has been monitoring environmental and transport trends for many years using environmental indicators. The transport and environment indicators are developed in accordance with the methodology of the European Environment Agency – TERM (Transport and Environment Reporting Mechanism). This approach allows Slovenia’s data to be compared with data from other EU countries.
The aim of the task is to update the current environment and transport indicators and archive outdated ones; develop new indicators at the national and/or regional level to monitor the mobility system in Slovenia; improve the accessibility and usability of data for decision-makers and the public; ensure the indicators’ compliance with EU directives, guidelines, and international standards; promote cooperation among various stakeholders in the collection and use of environment and transport data based on environmental indicators; and establish a system for regular updating and maintenance of indicators to ensure the long-term usability of data.
