The primary purpose of the Concept is to prepare an overview of the current situation and a spatially coordinated proposal for implementing sectoral programmes and plans, with the aim of ensuring rational and mutually complementary use of the territory of the Republic of Slovenia, in line with the guidelines of the Spatial Development Strategy of Slovenia (ReSPR50). The purpose is also to formalize an agreement on the state’s development- and protection‑oriented objectives for coordinated spatial planning, while safeguarding spatial qualities, resources, and social values.
The goal is to prepare the Concept as a step toward harmonized national planning baselines for the key development plans and programmes in Slovenia up to 2050. It includes spatial topics that are important for achieving national development objectives: I. Settlements’ protection, renewal, and development; II. Transport and transport infrastructure; III. Energy supply and infrastructure; IV. Landscape: agriculture, forestry, tourism, and recreation; V. Natural resources and resilience to natural disasters.
