Rok Brišnik is a geographer and historian with a Master's degree in Climate Change Management. He completed his Master's degree in 2024 at the Faculty of Landscape Architecture of the Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences in Germany. During his studies, he participated in two international study exchanges, the first in the field of environmental sciences in Germany, the second in environmental engineering technology in Portugal.
He gained work experience in various fields, mainly in the field of geoinformatics and research. He worked as a geographic information systems analyst at the Geodetic Institute of Slovenia and at DFG Consulting, and as a research assistant at the Urban Planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia. He upgraded his professional knowledge by participating in various geographical events, such as the international soils summer school WRB, two geographical research camps, and the international scientific conference Hidden Geography. He participated in the editorial board of the geographical journal GEOmix for four years.
He is actively involved in the Town and Spatial Planning Association of Slovenia (TSSAS) and the Alpine Protection Association CIPRA Slovenia, where he was a member of the International CIPA Youth Council. Since October 2024, he has been employed as a researcher at the Urban Planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia, where he mainly works on geoinformatics and green infrastructure.
