Rok Brišnik holds a degree in Geography and History and a Master's degree from the University of Applied Sciences Weihenstephan-Triesdorf in Germany, where he completed his Master's degree in Climate Change Management at the Faculty of Landscape Architecture in 2024. During his studies, he participated in two study exchanges, the first in Environmental Science in Germany and the second in Environmental Engineering Technology in Portugal. During his studies, he gained work experience in a number of fields, including as a Geographic Information Systems Analyst at the Geodetic Institute of Slovenia and DFG Consoulting, and as a Research Assistant at the Urban Planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia. He participated in the WRB International Soil Summer School and in two geographic research camps, assisted at the international scientific conference Hidden Geographies, and served for four years on the editorial board of the journal GEOmix. He is active in the CIPRA Alpine Conservation Association, where he is a member of the CIPRA International Youth Council. Since October 2024, he has been working as a researcher at the Urban Institute, mainly in the field of geoinformatics and green infrastructure planning.
