Prof Rye is an internationally known transport policy academic with over 25 years’ experience working in academia and practice. He has particular skills in training and international transport policy evaluation, and has published widely in international journals on topics including mobility management for large employers; parking management; concessionary fares; public transport policy and operations; freight transport policy; and the integration of land use and transport planning. He has worked on national and international projects in these topics for clients including the Scottish and UK Governments, European Commission and World Bank, and he has led two research institutes including the Swedish National Research and Knowledge Centre on public transport.
