Jakob Kmetič graduated in 2024 from the dual-subject Bachelor's programme in Geography and History at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana. He is currently preparing his Master's thesis entitled "Morphographic Interpretation of Caves Based on LiDAR 3D Modelling." During his studies, he collaborated for several years with the Urban Planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia, primarily in the fields of spatial analysis, automation, and the development of geographic information systems (GIS) and databases. He is involved in projects related to spatial development, public transport development, and climate change adaptation. In addition, he works in the field of developing and promoting open-source GIS and data solutions.
