Damjana Gantar holds a PhD in Landscape Architecture and works as a research associate at the Urban Planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia (UIRS). Her work focuses on multidisciplinary, transnational, and national projects, encompassing both scientific and applied studies of environmental and landscape aspects in spatial planning.
Her primary research interests include landscape changes, future scenarios, and the preservation of quality, spatial identity, and cultural heritage in rural areas, examining how these aspects are influenced by factors such as policies and demographic shifts. She also integrates considerations of energy efficiency into spatial planning and the renovation of cultural heritage buildings.
From 2017 to 2024, Damjana Gantar has served as the editor-in-chief of Urbani izziv, the scientific journal published by UIRS.
